Both methods clean, but they suit different fabrics and different levels of soiling. Here is how we choose.
Foam shampoo
Best for delicate or non-colourfast fabrics and light soiling. Dries faster, uses less water.
Hot-water extraction
Best for deep-set dirt, odour and stains. Injects hot solution and vacuums it back out with the dirt.
What we check first
- Fabric tag code (W, S, WS or X)
- Colourfastness on a hidden patch
- Foam and frame material
Leather and suede never get either method — those get a dedicated conditioner treatment.
